Asset Integrity Management (AIM)

Technical services

The asset management system, also referred to as equipment health management, comprises the activities and decisions that ensure the proper performance of personnel, systems, processes and resources.

The main objectives of Asset Integrity Management (AIM) are:

  • Achieving maximum equipment performance while preserving the value of stakeholders’ assets

  • Minimizing business risks associated with incidents and production losses

In view of the incidents that have occurred over the years—such as refinery fires, explosions in offshore gas transmission pipelines, and explosions in onshore gas distribution pipelines in the oil and gas industry—the adoption of a comprehensive system for accident prevention and extension of the service life of oil and gas facilities is essential.

This is particularly important given the need for comprehensive planning and the use of modern maintenance technologies as one of the key pillars of asset integrity management systems in industry, especially in the oil, gas and petrochemical sectors, which are among the country’s vital lifelines. Implementing such systems contributes to extending the service life and durability of a significant portion of national oil and gas facilities.

Industrial & Engineering Inspection Co. of Iran (IEI), drawing on its team of experienced and specialized experts in this field, operates in the following three areas:

  • Risk-Based Inspection (RBI)

  • Cathodic protection and corrosion control

  • Conventional and advanced non-destructive testing (NDT)
