Industrial & Engineering Inspection Co. of Iran (IEI), with more than 40 years of continuous activity in the railway and urban metro sectors, prepares safety procedures and guidelines, employs appropriate inspection equipment, and deploys qualified specialists in the transport inspection field to control common risks and ensure the safety of rolling stock and rail lines in both urban and intercity networks.

IEI is active in the railway and urban metro industries in the following areas:

• In-process, pre-shipment and installation inspection of rails, third rails, turnouts (points) and related components, as well as all types of concrete, steel and wooden sleepers

• In-process inspection and final testing of metro cars, passenger coaches, restaurant cars, locomotives, rail buses and freight wagons

• Periodic inspection during operation and supervision of overhaul activities for rolling stock and rail tracks

• Inspection of consumable parts and spare components at manufacturers’ facilities based on international standards and issuance of the relevant approvals

• Inspection of signaling, telecommunications, power supply, lighting systems and other equipment installed in metro and railway stations
